What We Do?

Public Housing Income Supplementary Help Network component is designed to assist single heads-of-households to services that promote self-sufficiency. Hopefully, a worthwhile partnership can be established with the Suffolk Department of Human Services to bridge the gap for needed supportive services. As mentors/counselors are assigned to participants, they can individually meet their needs and move them from subsidized living.

This program is not to reinvent the wheel of services nor duplicate services that are not providing outcomes. The ultimate goal is to connect participants to resources and services compatible to their needs that will change their lives. By providing the one-on-one mentoring and counseling, the impact is bound to be effective, efficient, and empowering. By providing such individualized services, families will gain economic stability and the outcomes will have more result-oriented effects.
